BDA is seeking a dynamic Head of Marketing, Communications and Events (MCE) to lead its brand and outreach efforts. The role will drive initiatives that strengthen Bermuda’s position as a premier international financial services jurisdiction. This full‑time leadership position will connect with key audiences in innovative and impactful ways. It will work closely with the Managing Director and Head of Business Development to guide the strategic direction of all marketing, communications and events activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing, communications and events strategies that support the company’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) mandate and priority sector goals.
- Lead the creation of compelling marketing content, campaigns and collateral across digital, social, print and international channels tailored to investor audiences.
- Oversee market research and insights to shape sector narratives, value propositions and positioning strategies informed by the Bermuda economy and target markets.
- Manage and evolve the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency and alignment across all platforms and stakeholder touchpoints.
- Direct planning and execution of events, conferences, and promotional activities that drive investor engagement, lead generation and relationship development.
- Build and maintain media, influencer, and industry partners to enhance brand visibility and reputation in key international markets.
- Collaborate with Business Development teams to develop positioning strategies that support investor attraction, conversion and sector-specific campaigns.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align marketing and communications initiatives with organization objectives and investor lifecycle needs.
- Monitor marketing trends, analytics, and performance data to optimize campaigns, strengthen engagement, and achieve investment promotion outcomes.
- Lead, mentor and manage the Marketing, Communications & Events team against clearly defined KPIs and strategic priorities.
- Oversee sponsorship negotiation, event budgeting, resource planning and overall work program alignment in agreement with the Managing Director’s objectives.
- Develop and manage internal communications to ensure timely, accurate and consistent information flow across the organization.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help achieve BDA objectives.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or related field, with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant area (investment promotion or financial services an asset)
- Deep knowledge of the Bermuda economy/market, and experience partnering with local stakeholders, government officials and regulators.
- Proven ability to design, brand, lead and implement marketing and communications strategies across both digital and traditional channels.
- Strong understanding of business development, branding and targeted sector promotion, backed by strategic and analytical decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team development, goal setting and performance management, along with strong media and public relations capabilities.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of crafting compelling, data-driven narratives for senior stakeholders, investors and professional audiences.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
