SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Are you passionate about uncovering insights and driving strategic decisions with data? The Bermuda Business Development Agency is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Research & Intelligence Facilitator to join our team and to provide assistance to the Business Development Managers with special projects and business development initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a critical role in gathering, analyzing and disseminating valuable information that supports strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires a proactive individual with strong research skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will also be adept at using various research methodologies and tools to provide intelligence that drives business growth, innovation and operational efficiency.

The Research & Intelligence Facilitator will require a blend of analytical, technical and interpersonal skills to be able to support a data-driven approach to decision-making within this role. The position will suit a team player who understands the business environment, industry dynamics and market forces. It will require an individual who keeps up to date with industry trends, news and developments to successfully identify and interpret market trends and patterns.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the Research & Intelligence Manager, Business Development Managers and focus groups, provide support with translating ideas into actionable business development plans. Assist with formulating tactics to effect strategy and implement strategic plans.
  • Assist with the development of a proactive strategy to mine prospective business across targeted sectors and various regions to build a working pipeline of prospective new business
  • Provide support to the Business Development Managers to assist with building, developing and leveraging business relationships with international and local partners, align research efforts with business objectives
  • Assist the Research & Intelligence Manager with the Salesforce system, monitoring all new business opportunities, ensuring follow-up activities are complete and the system updated accordingly
  • Support the Business Development Managers engagement with the members and focus groups, understanding all industry sector requirements related to events, conferences, infrastructure, issues and product development
  • Assist with establishing ongoing communication with stakeholders, including scheduling meetings, retrieving updates for the Board, press coverage and media
  • Conduct thorough research using a variety of sources, including databases, publications and surveys to gather relevant information on industry trends, market conditions and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor and analyze ongoing product development initiatives, strategies and business development activities in competitor jurisdictions
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns, trends and insights that can inform strategic decision-making
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise and impactful reports, presentations and dashboards for various stakeholders, providing recommendations for innovative solutions-based research findings
  • Assist the Research & Intelligence Manager with quality engagement and coordination of Economic Investment Research Certificate concierge services for U/V/HNWI’s

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, Data Science or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in research, market intelligence, data analysis or related role
  • Proven experience with interpreting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ability to assess complex information and to draw logical conclusions
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness in research findings and reports
  • Experience with databases and CRM software to manage and extract relevant data preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis; with the ability to create charts and graphs using tools such as MS PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Ability to create clear, concise and insightful reports and to present research findings effectively to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with U/V/HNW clients, colleagues and industry partners
  • Excellent prioritization skills for task management, time management and to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Resourceful and effective at problem solving
